When I listened to it I was so captivated by the beauty of her playing. All of her works are truly inspiring but this one , in particular, has a special meaning for me. For me, as a student studying piano... I record my lessons... but my teacher never has the time or patience to play the entire piece ... slowed down! or hand by hand. What you are doing in these DVDs is so beneficial... and so very valuable to me! Sometimes I just need to hear one hand to work through a section. T hank you for committing to do all these technically demanding repertoire of classical music. Wow... what a great range you have in teaching. Your technique is so wonderful and just watching your hands rise from your lap to the keys... has helped my better understand the feeling of how the hands need to feel like they are resting on magnets. The cameral angle is perfect for watching how wonderfully well you conserve your arm and hand movements with no tension to impede your playing. Without any sound... I have already learned so much from watching you. Y our technical advice for practicing certain sections are so helpful on so many levels. I study with a wonderful teacher... but hearing your take on a specific piece helps to see things from a different angle. Your advice on voicing octaves, for instance, is so right on and you present it so clearly. Very nice! Studying with you on DVD is great because I can take a lesson with you every single day.. unlike at lessons in person. Overall I can't tell you how lovely it is to receive daily instruction from you ... over and over again. You are a lovely and loving teacher who has worked through so many challenges in life to get to the playing level and teaching level that you have arrived at. I am so glad that I found you in INTERNATIONAL PIANO MAGAZINE. You deserve so much praise for what you are doing. July 14, 2006 The new DVD works very well. Being able to listen and watch as many times as I need to is helping me to prepare to teach my advancing students. I have taught beginners and intermediate students for many years and would like to be able to keep them as they move into more advanced music. Your DVDs will be a helpful tool toward this end. It was a joy to watch and learn I think the version I have (Urtext) is slightly different from what I heard played but was equally wonderful to hear. I have been hacking away at this piece for the last three weeks now and I was wondering how Arrau could make it sound so beautiful and legato that I could not. The answer was in the DVD.
